Queer Newfoundland Hockey League: Artist Talk and Reception

Please join us in-person or virtually (details below) for an Artist Talk with Lucas Morneau, the artist behind our next exhibition opening this Saturday, May 11.

Queer Newfoundland Hockey League (QNHL) is a fictional hockey league made up of fourteen teams, all of which use pejoratives used against the 2SLGBTQIA+ community as team names. Through crocheted and rug hooked hockey jerseys, queered hockey cards, and crocheted goalie masks, artist Lucas Morneau (they/he) reclaims slurs often used against queer individuals both on and off the ice.

The artist would like to acknowledge ArtsNL and Canada Council for their support of this project.

Artist Talk, Livestream & Reception Details: May 11 - Doors open at 6pm. Artist Talk & Livestream begin at 6:30pm. We ask in-person attendees to please arrive prior to 6:30pm to avoid interruption. Reception to follow. Light refreshments will be served.
Exhibition Dates: May 11 - July 6, 2024
